Ready for a Change
04:14
|
|||
Who can compare? Who can say that the love we once had will come back someday?
How will it feel? How will we know if it’s a familiar feeling or one we won’t know?
Morning light streams through your window
I can’t bring myself to leave
A new hand, a new face, a new smile asking for embrace
A new voice, a new name
All I know it’s not the same and I know I’m ready for a change
I’ll show you my heart, please be kind, time has passed since it’s been borrowed, keep that in mind
With just one look so much is said; both of us brimming with brightness we look to what could be next
The smell of you lingers on my skin
I like you on my skin
All I know it’s not the same and I know I’m ready for a change

Nostalgia
04:26
|

Bring on the change of scenery
The change of time; the change of tides
But know you cannot take from me our endless summer nights
It doesn't seem to matter how much time has passed
We'll take a moment now to raise our glass
To the people we used to be and the songs we used to sing
We are nostalgic; our lives crystallized in gold
We are nostalgic; our stories told and then retold
We are nostalgic and we sing like we're the same
No matter how much is different; no matter how much is changed
And I wouldn't take back anything
Bring back the memories
Our days of youth; days of naivety
I know we'll never be the same; I know we left so much behind
And just because it's fleeting doesn't mean we're sad
We're holding close the moments that we had
To be the people we're meant to be; to write the songs we're meant to sing
Wistful thinking cannot take us back; there is so much life that we have lived
Though we reminisce our stories & past, I admire who we've become
I admire who we've become
I admire who we've become
I admire who we've become

These Moments
04:18
|
|||
Every year for three years on my birthday we’d go down to the beach
Wait till twilight, toe the line between the sand and sea
Confidence in our veins we believed it to be sane to swim naked
And I stood there with no fear, sobriety too far away to hear, to care, if the neighbor’s saw
And that’s the beauty of it all, we get caught up in these moments
Living too much to worry, to wonder, if we’re doing it wrong
When the party’s over we’re hungover, the scene’s left in disarray
Still drunk on moonlight and sea salt and reckless escapades
Gone is the adrenaline, the feeling of infinity
Here is the healing, sometimes searing morn of reality
And that’s the beauty of it all, we get caught up in these moments
Living too much to worry, to wonder, if we’re doing it wrong
I hope we’re not doing it wrong

Still See Stars
02:54
|
|||
You can turn off the lights; you can tune out the noise; you can look past the madness
You can click your heels twice; you can dream something nice, take some thoughts for the roads
Feel your way through the dark; feel the pounding of your heart as you swim past the deep end
When you’re not sure you’re still here and there’s panic and fear, remember I still see the stars
Nothing about this place is simple, that’s not what we signed up for
We’re tackling the human the experience and there’s bound to be a bumpy road for sure
You can take a deep breath; step away from the ledge, you can count to ten
You can close your eyes; you can open your mind, feel the ground beneath your feet
I can see it in your eyes, you’re empty inside; I can be here if you want me to
We don’t have to speak, we don’t have to be seen, we’ll sit in the dark and still see the stars
Remember, I still see the stars

Wandering State of Mind
03:29
|
|||
I feel I’m growing out of my roots deep inside the ground
I’m tired of the same roads, same view, same things we talk about
I feel it seeping under my skin, the urge for something new
But there is only one thing holding me back and darling it is you
Cut me loose and set me free
I don’t think that this quiet life was really meant for me
You say you’ll never see the world in this lifetime
What I think you’re missing is the wandering state of mind
Sometimes everything you say will push me closer to the door
Your obsession with safety makes me reckless more and more
There’s so much of this world, this life that I have yet to see
I hear it whisper, scream & shout: “Come on and follow me!”
Show me Boston, show me France
The Golden Gate Bridge I want to dance on the docks of Venice
And climb the mountains of Vermont
Go to Vegas, go to Spain; I’ll take a boat, a bus, a train
I’ll see the towers of Notre Dame and watch the Northern Lights light up the night
I’m California dreaming; I’m lost in Chinatown
I’m living in the city; I’m living out of town
I finally made it out, I wasn’t too late

With Me
03:04
|
|||
Hey pretty lady with the silvery hair
Sitting at the kitchen table
Sipping coffee in the afternoon light
Smile for me lady, I love seeing your smile
Tell me stories about your life
I want to hear every single one
Wait for me, lady, I have so much to share
I’m learning everyday and I want you here
I really want you here
I love you, lady, and I know that you know
No matter what the day brings
You’re with me wherever I go
