I'm stuck with writers block
And shit out of luck

Give me notebooks
Give me napkins
Give me crayons and broken pens
Give me moments of pure panic
To write it down before I forget

Playing with words to make poetry
Writing songs to make you feel at ease
And singing makes me feel free

And I'm trying to write songs
About what it means to grow up
But I still have so much living to do myself

This means:
Cliff hangers and road rage
Relationships and coffee runs
Late night studying with adrenaline wake ups
Mud at the bus stop and rain on my birthday
Double parked in Manhattan and lost in the city

Falling in love and learning it's hard
Playing badminton after school in our yard
All nighters and sunrises
Lattes and jokes
About things that I like and things that I don't

And friends that are toxic like cigarette smoke
And finding the bright side in the darkness like hope
Igniting a fire under my ass
To make sure I wake up in time just for class

Learning to ride a bike and driving a car
In life there are times that are easy and hard
But measure of character is not in the task
But how you survive it, that's how you will last
By learning and growing and living it all
Take in the beauty
Take in the fall
And just when you feel like you're going to crash

And I'm trying to write songs
About what it means to grow up

That no combination of words

To the life that's waiting for me to live
